WATERLOO - Jacob E. "Jake" Goldenstein, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 3, at his home.

He was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Rockford, son of Harm B. and Lena Olthoff Goldenstein. He married Betty L. Rogers in 1954 in Joliet, Ill. She died Nov. 10, 1998.

Mr. Goldenstein served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Viking Pump Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1992.

Survived by: two daughters, Phylis (Leonard) Avis of Evansdale and Carol Billman (David Lark) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernard (Dorothella) of Ridgefield, Wash.

Services: family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery in June.

Memorials: a memorial has been established, to be designated at a later date.
