CEDAR FALLS — Caroline Lucille Hillig Steinkraus, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 2, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born July 12, 1918, in Yellow Medicine County, Minn., daughter of Adolph and Adda Warrick Hillig. She married Alvin Steinkraus Oct. 5, 1940, in Wadena, Minn. He died July 15, 1982.

Mrs. Steinkraus was a seamstress and a homemaker, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by: two sons, Roger (Carol) and Duane (Sue), both of Waterloo; four daughters, LaVonne (Jim) Hagan of Caddo Mills, Texas, Marilyn (Jon) Dostal of Grand Rapids, Minn., Linda (Paul) Avis of New Hartford and Marlys (Dave) Bownes of Reinbeck; a brother, Glenn Hillig of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; a sister, Grace of Wadena; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Carl and Ralph Hillig; and a sister, Alma Skalisky.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo.
