CEDAR FALLS — Esther E. Yungtum, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 1, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center of natural causes.

She was born April 10, 1922, in Bremer County, daughter of Herman and Ida Nolte Moeller. She married William Yungtum on Feb. 19, 1944, in San Bernardino, Calif. He died June 1, 1990.

Mrs. Yungtum was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Evangelical Church, Tripoli.

Survived by: a daughter, Carol (Larry) Dufel of Dike; three grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Dufel of Cedar Falls, Kelly (Brian) Breuner of Ankeny and Laura (Kevin) Willms of Cottage Grove, Minn.; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Schuldt of Readlyn and Grace Buhr of Oelwein.

Preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Leslie, John and Lawrence Moeller; and a sister, Bertha Schmudlach.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before service Thursday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Sumner.
