DEATH OF HANS PAULSON

Lived in the Neighborhood for Thirty Years

Friends in Le Mars have received word of the' death of Hans Paulson, who lived for thirty years on a farm on the Plymouth-county line, a mile south of Carnes. The Plainview News has the following sketch of his life:

Hans Paulson was born in Torsland, Sjaeland, Denmark, April 20,1840. In the spring of 1867 he emigrated to this country and settled in Black Hawk county, Iowa, where he lived for three years, then moved to Sioux county, Iowa, in which county he homesteaded and lived for thirty years. In 1899 he moved to Antelope county, Neb., living there until death, January 16th, 1911.

In the fall of 1881 he visited his old home in Denmark, returning in the spring of 1882, when he was united in marriage to Miss Ingeborg Eliza Christianson, who, now survives him with three sons, John, Alfred and Arthur, also one brother, C. Paulson, and one sister, Mary Johnson, the former, of Kildare, Okla., and the latter of Emmetsburg, Iowa. In the year 1900 he joined the Danish Lutheran church. The funeral was held at the Danish Lutheran church, Copenhagen, on Thursday, January 19, 1911, conducted by Rev. Karl M. Hansen and Rev. Litherland, of runswick, and the remains were laid to rest in the Danish Lutheran cemetery near the church.
