READLYN - Kathlynn A. "Kate" Schumacher, 56, of Readlyn, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Waterloo, daughter of Norman "Pete" and Florence Humbert Davis. She married David Schumacher on April 28, 1974, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn.

Mrs. Schumacher graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1971. She was a homemaker and a dairy farmer with her husband.

Survived by: her husband; four sons, Douglas (Emily) of Cresco, Randall (Megan) of Altoona, Joseph of Denver and Gregory of Readlyn; two grandchildren, Alex and Daniel, both of Altoona; her parents, Norman Davis of Dunkerton and Florence Davis of Globe, Ariz.; and two sisters, Arlene (Mike) Tiedt of Readlyn and Jacquelyn Davis of Mesa, Ariz.

Preceded in death by: two infant brothers; and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn.
