Carole S. King, 71, of Centennial, Colo., went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 7, 2010.

She was born in Covina, Calif., to Gladys and Louis Steele and grew up in Cedar Falls. Carole was a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt as well as a devoted friend. She worked in real estate for over 30 years, a career she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Ben King, her children, Cathy (Gary) Laymon of Piedmont, Calif., Stephanie (Dave) Nelson of Marietta, Ga., Gary (Christine) Ives of Morrison, Colo.; her stepchildren, Diane (Jim) Harmes of Trinidad, Colo., and David King of Denver; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Bill) Lowe of Minden, Nev.; and a brother, Louis (Jane) Steele of Durango, Colo.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Holly Hills Bible Church.
