WATERLOO - Arthur W. Weiland, 89, of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 5, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born July 6, 1920, in Britt, son of William and Alice Carl Weiland. He married Edna M. Johnson on Dec. 19, 1952, in Waterloo.

Mr. Weiland worked for John Deere for 36 years, retiring as an inspector in 1985. He also served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Dan (Linda) Funk of Waterloo and Bill (Dodie) Weiland of Lake Lotawana, Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Phillip of Las Vegas.

Preceded in death by: a son, James A. Funk; a brother, Bud; and three sisters, Sally Sonerholm, Gail Garman and Ruth Loonan.

Family Services: were held at Locke Funeral Home.
