CEDAR FALLS - Marlene A. Myers, 70, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was born March 8, 1939, in Waterloo, daughter of Andrew V. and Isabelle L. Hill Barry. She married John R. Myers on April 8, 1961, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Ms. Myers graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1957 and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1974. She taught seventh- and eighth- grade science and health in the Janesville Consolidated Schools from 1957 to 1959, and later fifth- through eighth- grade science, math and reading at Blessed Sacrament School, retiring in 1977.

Survived by: a son, Chris M. (Rose) of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Maj. Cynthia Myers of Virginia Beach, Va., and Suzanne Myers of Coon Rapids, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Loris (Bill) Keller of Du Quoin, Ill., and Jeanette (Richard) Staiert of Coon Rapids; and a brother, Joe (Mary Ann) Barry of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a son, Daniel.

Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the church. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
