CEDAR FALLS - Ervin H. Christian, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Feb. 1, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

He was born Jan. 29, 1919, near La Porte City, son of Herbert A. and Lora G. Harmon Christian. He married Elizabeth M. Walker on Feb. 20, 1941, in Mason City. She died Oct. 28, 2001.

Mr. Christian farmed in Black Hawk County for many years, retiring in 1991.

Survived by: a daughter, Carmen (George) Gutmann of Ames; a son, Donald (Linda) of Waverly; four grandchildren, Stacia Axon, Eric Christian, Renee Murray and Rhonda Toll; and four great-grandchildren, Amber and Jacob Axon, Alexis Toll and Shawn Murray.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and three sisters, Helen Kaler, Norma Craft and Beulah Klenk.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today, and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
