WATERLOO - Alice Mary "Amie" Porter Noverr, 69, of Kent, Wash., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Valley Medical Center, Kent.

She was born March 21, 1940, in Battle Creek, Mich., daughter of Walter Stanley and Sarah Susan Armstrong Porter. She married William C. Noverr on Nov. 17, 1962. He died Nov. 30, 1999.

Mrs. Noverr graduated from St. Phillips High School, Battle Creek, and received her registered nursing license from St. Joseph Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Survived by: a daughter, Teresa (Peter) Chin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Joseph (Karina) of Kent, William of Loveland, Colo., and Andrew of Ann Arbor, Mich.; three grandchildren, Camille and Liam Chin, and Allison Noverr; two brothers, Michael (Lynette) Porter of Virginia Beach, Va., and Patrick Porter of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Louise (Ron) Youngblut of La Porte City and Teresa (Brian) Corcoran of Fairbank; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Sarah Bridget Porter; a brother, William Porter Jr.; and three sister-in-laws.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Monday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to Priests for Life EWTN or the church.

Amie enjoyed her family especially her grandkids, crafts and faith. She was very active in her prayer group in Alaska where she resided for 26 years prior to her stroke in December 2001.
