WATERLOO - Emily A. Leckness, 87, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., daughter of Emil and Ellen Smith Norgaard. She married Garth T. Snider on May 17, 1941, in Blooming Prairie. He preceded her in death. She then married James Leckness on July 4, 1984, in Waterloo.

She was a home health aide for Black Hawk County until her retirement.

Survived by: her husband; four sons, Joseph (Judy) Snider, Gary (Julie) Snider and Steve Snider, all of Waterloo, and Richard (Cathy) Snider of Evansdale; two daughters, Joyce Carter of Rochester, Minn., and Sheery (Larry) Brunscheon of Alleman; a stepson, James Jr. (Gloria) Leckness of Waterloo; two stepdaughters, Larraine (Monte) Crane of Waterloo and Cindy (Michael) Crane of Evansdale; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; a stepdaughter-in-law, Diane Leckness of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Dean (Joann) Norgaard of Manhattan, Ill.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Mervel and James; a grandson, Andrew Paul Snider; a great-grandson, Nicholas Blake Snider; and a stepson, Ricky Leckness.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
