Mrs. Bridget Adelia Fay

Mrs. Bridget Adelia Fay, 1223 Bertch avenue, widow of Richard Fay, died Monday at 8:35 p.m. in St. Francis hospital from pernicious anemia and complications incident to advanced age. She was 89 years old.

She had suffered from pernicious anemia for the past 15 years. Mrs. Fay had been bedfast since last October and was taken to the hospital early Monday.

She came to Iowa over 60 years ago, farming with her husband first about three years near Hudson, nine years near La Porte City, and about 16 years near Jesup. Mr. Fay retired about 34 years ago and the couple moved to Waterloo. He died about 1911.

Born Jan. 27, 1853, in Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. Fay was the daughter of Martin and Catherine Crowe. She was married Jan. 10, 1871, at Freeport, Ill.

Mrs. Fay was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church and of the Rosary society of the church.

Surviving are four sons, James Francis Fay and Leo Vincent Fay, both of Ryan, Ia.; Harvey Richard Fay, living on the home farm near Jesup, and Alexander William Fay, Great Falls Mont.; two daughters, Miss Kathryn Celia Fay, at home, and Winifred (Mrs. Simon W.) Hagerty, Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Hagerty has been here the past three weeks to help care for her mother and will be joined here by her husband for the funeral services.

Mrs. Fay was preceded in death by four sons, one brother and five grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements await word from the son at Great Falls. The body was taken to the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home.
