WATERLOO — Leroy Scott, 71, of 522 Ricker St., died Thursday, Dec. 3, at home of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Attala County, Miss., son of Bennie Scott and Susie Mae Carr. He married Dorothy Moore, and they later divorced. He then married Lillie Hoskins, and they later divorced.

Mr. Scott was formerly employed with John Deere and Co., Headfords, Iowa Beef Packers in Tama and Viking Pump in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: four daughters, Antoinette (Al) Gilbert and Toyja Scott, both of Waterloo, Kimberly (Sidney) Atkins of Anchorage, Alaska, and Crystal (Kendrick) Mennard of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sons, Richard Blalock of Waterloo, Von Sawyers of Las Vegas and Reginold Scott of Texas; 27 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Wesley Scott and L.B. Scott; and a sister, Bettie Hart.

Services: noon Saturday at Community Baptist Church, with burial at a later date. Public visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
