WATERLOO - Sue A. Layman, 56, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Nov. 29, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 15, 1953, in Marshalltown, daughter of Orville and Beverly Karas Bollhoefer. She married William “Bill” Layman on April 2, 1977, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Layman graduated from Semco High School, Gilman, in 1971 and attended Iowa State University. She was a supervisor at John Deere, retiring in October.

Survived by: her husband; her mother of Laurel; and a sister, Mary (Merrill) Bollhoefer-Harberts of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: her father.

Public visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date in Green Mountain Cemetery, Green Mountain.

Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or Iowa River Hospice, 502 Plaza Heights Road, Marshalltown 50158.
