FAIRBANKS, BOYLE, MARQUAND

WATERLOO - Robert Roy Fairbanks, 78, of Battle Ground, Wash., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Nov. 30, after a long illness with emphysema.

He was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Roy and Pearl Boyle Fairbanks. He married Joan L. Marquand on May 13, 1956, in Evansdale.

Mr. Fairbanks attended Waterloo East High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 18 years at Rath Packing Co. After moving to Washington state, he worked for Alcoa Aluminum, Vancouver.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Robert B. (Melody) of Vancouver and David R. of Battle Ground; a daughter, Tresa J. Fairbanks of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Jan) of North Charleston, N.C.; and a sister, Joyce (Kenneth) Tournier of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Buddy.

Private memorial services and burial: at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore. Layne Funeral Home, Battle Ground, assisted the family.
