DEAD AT AGE OF 84

BORN IN INDIANA, CAME TO IOWA
WHEN SHE WAS A CHILD

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Mrs. Martha Ferguson, 84, widow of the late I. A. Ferguson, for many years a resident of this city, died Sunday at 4 p.m., at Sartori Memorial Hospital, where she had been confined for a short while from illness die to old age.

Martha Lowe was born in Johnson county, Indiana, February 1, 1857, and came with her family to Benton county, Iowa, when she was a small child. She was educated at Tilford academy in Vinton, and taught in the rural schools in that county for 12 years.

- Married in 1893 -

On March 30, 1893 she was married to I.A. Ferguson and they established a farm home near La Porte City. In 1909 they moved to Cedar Falls. Mr. Ferguson died here about 10 years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy M. Ferguson, teacher in the Hunter College, New York City, one step daughter, Mrs. Elmer Parman, of this city, and two grandchildren, Jean and Lee Parman, both of this city. Two daughters preceded her in death.

Also living are two sisters, Mrs. G.W. Flathers of Ames and Mrs. William Van Skike of Brandon and one brother, Samuel Lowe of Little Falls, Minnesota.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of the daughter from New York City.
