FUNERAL SERVICES
WEDNESDAY FOR
CRAIG HOLMLUND

Funeral services for Craig Allen Holmlund, 23, of 205 Sunny Lane, were held Wednesday, June 16, 1993 at 11:00 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo. Burial was in the Hudson Cemetery with Locke Funeral Home in charge.

Craig passed away at his home on Saturday from complications of Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that forced him to a wheel chair at a young age.

He was born April 11, 1970 in Waterloo, the son of Robert W. and Sandra K. Flickinger Holmlund.

Participating in school activities as much as possible, Craig was extremely popular with his fellow students and was honored as Hudson's first Homecoming King in 1988. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1989.

Craig was the Muscular Dystrophy Poster Child for Eastern Iowa in 1980.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, T. E. (Curly) Flickinger.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Tom of Cape Coral, Florida and Brian of Wichita, Kansas; His paternal grandparents, Bill and Gladys Holmlund of Lake Mills, Iowa; and his maternal grandmother, Ann Flickinger of Waterloo; and a host of friends.

A memorial fund will be established.

HUDSON -- Craig Allen Holmlund, 23 of 205 Sunny Lane died at home Saturday, June 12, from complications of Muscular Dystrophy.

He was born April 11, 1970, in Waterloo, son of Robert W. and Sandra K. Flickinger Holmlund. He was the Muscular Dystrophy Poster Child for eastern Iowa in 1980.

Survivors include his parents of Hudson; two brothers, Tom of Cape Coral, Fla., and Brian of Wichita, Kan.; paternal grandparents, Bill and Gladys Holmlund of Lake Mills; and maternal grandmother, Ann Flickinger of Waterloo; he was preceded in death by his maternal grandgather, T. E. "Curly" Flickinger.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, where there will be an 8 p.m. Scripture service.

A memorial fund will be established.
