DEAVER, MOAR, BRODY, TRUCKENMILLER

CEDAR FALLS - Joycelyn M. Deaver, 90, of 2603 Orchard Drive, Apt. 114, died Thursday, Nov. 12, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 24, 1919, in Ocheyedan, daughter of Gordon J. and Clara M. Moar Brody. She married the Rev. Leonard E. Deaver on Aug. 10, 1937, in Sibley. He died Dec. 8, 1999.

Mrs. Deaver was a supportive minister's wife for 55 years of active ministry; a homemaker throughout her adult life; worked at Jack and Jill Preschool; and started Mother's Morning Out in Knoxville. She held offices at the state level for the EUB Church.

Survived by: four sons, L. Serle (Sharon) of Charleston, S.C., N. Keith (Janice) of Anamosa, Gery R. (Connie) and David W. (Janet), both of Cedar Falls, a daughter, N. Kay Deaver of Altoona; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Maxine) Brody of Bigelow, Minn.; and a sister, Bobbi (Dennis) Truckenmiller of Sibley.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Gerald Brody; a sister, Darlene Alexander; and a brother-in-law, Ray Alexander.

Private burial: in Greenwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service and luncheon at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home.
