LA PORTE CITY - Cleo Jay Rice, 78, of La Porte City, died Friday, Nov. 13, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born May 5, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, son of Jay and Esther Virden Rice. He married Marlys Wilworth in La Porte City and they were later divorced.

Mr. Rice was a truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by: a son, Jeff of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Linda; and a brother, John of Gilbertville.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Tom; and a sister, Yvonne McKinley.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at La Porte City Funeral Service, with burial in West View Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
