BARRON, WASHBURN, HOLLAND, DUCKETT

WATERLOO - William A. Barron, 91, of Redding, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 31, at Mercy Hospital, Redding.

He was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Waterloo, son of Joseph and Maud Washburn Barron. He married Dorothy J. Holland on March 15, 1942, in Rockwell, Texas. She died June 27, 2003.

Mr. Barron graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1936. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War from 1942 to 1945.

Survived by: three sons, William A. II (Lee) of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Larry H. (Jayne) of Houston and Dennis G. of Katy, Texas; a daughter, Karen (Gary) Duckett of Redding; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two granddaughters; two brothers; and three sisters.

Memorial services: will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Hills and Dales Child Development Center, 1011 Davis St., Dubuque 52001.

William was the youngest and last child remaining of the family. He had moved to Redding in 2007 to be closer to his family.
