WATERLOO - Genevieve M. Funk, 94, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

She was born April 18, 1915, in Waterloo, daughter of Frank and Helen Kenneally Manahl. She married Edward C. Funk on Sept. 10, 1942, in Glenview, Ill. He died April 6, 1965.

Mrs. Funk was a clerical worker with John Deere; a proofreader at the Wichita Eagle Newspaper, Wichita, Kan., and a reference clerk at the Waco Texas Public Library.

Survived by: a son, Douglas (Phyllis) of Berryton, Kan.; a daughter, Marcia Withrow of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, James Withrow, Anne Withrow, Ellen Hutton, Eric (Liz Bayless) Funk, Kim (Curt) Kosmala and Shannon Funk; and seven great-grandchildren, Sean Izard, Amanda Hutton, Stephen Hutton, Allyson Simmons, Lori Funk, Dawn Funk and Gavin Kosmala.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Elmer "Bud" Manahl; and two sisters, Marguerite Manahl and Bernice Jackson.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.
