EVANSDALE - Barbara Helen Hartmann, 80, of Evansdale, died Friday, Oct. 30, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in West Union, daughter of Lester and Pearl Smock Wroe. On Aug. 13, 1955, she married Henry "Hank" Hartmann. He died Oct. 21, 1997.

She grew up in West Union and moved to Waterloo in 1947.

Survived by: a son, Gary (Rita Routhier) Wroe of Evansdale; two grandchildren, Robert (Betty) Wroe of Evansdale and Barbie (Josh) Steere of New Hartford; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: four sisters; and a brother.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in the Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to the Gary Wroe family.

Barbara enjoyed going to races, dancing, and had a love for animals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Barbara will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
