WATERLOO - Joseph Michael Newton, 51, of Guttenberg, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 22, at Guttenberg Care Center of gall bladder cancer.

He was born Dec. 3, 1957, in Waterloo, son of Robert L. and Joan M. Wiedner Newton.

He attended River Hills from 1963 to 1977 and then attended Adults Inc. In 1993, he moved to the G & G Living Centers in Guttenberg.

Survived by: his mother of Waterloo; four brothers, Chuck (Deb) of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Debbie) of Waterloo, Curt (Nancy) of Cedar Falls and Bruce (Kim) of Waterloo; 12 nieces and nephews; and seven grand-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. rosary service.
