IOWA FALLS - Mary Belle Schager, 89, of Iowa Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Scenic Manor Nursing Home, Iowa Falls.

She was born Nov. 20, 1919, on a farm west of Alden, daughter of John and Jeanette Watt Tjarks. She married Harold A. Schager on Feb. 15, 1941. He died in 1991.

She graduated from Alden High School in 1938 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Alden United Methodist Church.

Survived by: a son, Robert (Joyce) of Iowa Falls; two daughters, Janet (Donald) Wilson of Topeka, Kan., and Kay Lynn (Carter) Bridges of Alden; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther (Bill) Krause of Alden; and a sister-in-law, Helma Hofsommer of Spencer.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Elizabeth Izer; and three brothers, Leslie Tjarks and two infants.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Alden, with burial in Alden Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Surls Funeral Home, Iowa Falls.
