CEDAR FALLS - Shirley A. Christian, 71, of Ames, died Saturday, Oct. 17, at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

She was born June 5, 1938, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Carl P. and Edna Miller Miller. She married Allen E. Christian on Dec. 12, 1959, in Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Christian graduated from Hudson High School, Hudson, and attended Wartburg College, Waverly. She was employed as a bank teller at University Bank and Trust before going to work at Iowa State Center as assistant box office manager, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Chad (Darsi) of Ames; a daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Haidu of North Barrington, Ill.; four grandsons; and a sister, Luella Larson of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a brother.

Celebration of life service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Ames, with burial at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, Ames.
