CEDAR FALLS - Benjamin H. Eastman, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born May 7, 1916, in Iowa Falls, son of Benjamin H. and Helen E. Benshoff Eastman. He married Ruth Dexter in 1937; she died in 1962. He married Kathryn Funk, and she preceded him in death. He then married Evelyn Waitek in 1971. She died Dec. 26, 2003.

Mr. Eastman graduated from Ellsworth Community College in 1935 and owned and operated Iowa Toy Company for 30 years. He volunteered for the Western Home, Meals on Wheels, and the Red Cross, where he was named Red Cross Volunteer of the Year.

Survived by: two sons, Bill (Karen) of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Barry (Janice) of Naples, Fla.; two stepsons, Jay (Dee) Waitek of Rock Falls and Marc Waitek of Mason City; a stepdaughter, Barbara (Louie) Guyot of Henderson, Ky.; six grandchildren, Sue (Rick) Morkel, Mark (Kim) Eastman, Amy (Dave) Abraham, Jody Eastman, Barry (Ann) Eastman and Todd (Kristi) Eastman; 14 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Le Roy; a sister, Betty Jean; and a grandson, Craig Eastman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prairie Lakes Church, with burial in Alcock Cemetery, Frederika. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the Western Home Foundation or American Cancer Society.
