WATERLOO - Florence I. Messingham, 76, of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 16, at the Sunset Home, Denver.

She was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Waterloo, daughter of Jesse and Helen Johnson Burch. She married James Vaughn in Texas in 1950, and they later divorced. She married Wendall Davis on May 12, 1960, in South Dakota. They later divorced.

Mrs. Messingham was a floor trainer at the JC Penney Store in Waterloo for 25 years, retiring in 1995.

Survived by: five daughters, Sandy Vaughn of Cedar Falls, Linda Willer of Louisiana, Cheryl Wilson of Grundy Center, and Lorene Nolan and Corene Duesenberg, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Semenchuk of Rockford, Ill.

Preceded in death by: two husbands; a son in infancy; a sister, Alice Bebee; and a special friend, Don Messingham.

Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with private family burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. There will be no visitation.
