WATERLOO - Elvin "Junior" Tragord, 84, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Ottumwa, son of Elvin J. and Rose M. Loy Tragord. He married Lillian Whitcher on July 22, 1945, at the Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

He worked at Rath Meat Packing Co. and then worked in the pumping station for the Waterloo Water Works, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church and former member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of Waterloo Masonic Lodge No. 105, Eastern Star, and High 12.

Survived by: a son, Emmett (Patsy) of Evansdale; two daughters, Colleen (George) Miller of Waverly and Kim (Larry Garretson) Eighme of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Jane Tragord of Tripoli; 11 grandchildren, Carrie (Don) Flack, Sarah (James) Knoll, Jeff Miller, Greg Miller, Tim Miller, Zach Miller, Nikki (Rick) Jensen, Heather Lies, Ashley (Dan) Ginther, Anthony Lies and Ryan (Sara) Eighme; 10 great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Mary Raymond of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, Glen and Cletus; an infant daughter, Gloria; a sister, Rose Tragord; and two brothers, Chuck and Bill.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be 6:30 p.m. Masonic services with Masonic rites by Waterloo Lodge 105.
