WATERLOO - Duane Donald Meier, 76, of Waterloo, formerly of Waverly, died Thursday, Oct. 8, at his home.

He was born July 30, 1933, in Waverly, son of Theodor and Laura Geweke Meier. On April 27, 1968, he married Vallory Warren at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly.

He graduated from Waverly High School in 1952 and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Meier worked at Rath Meat Packing for 33 years until it closed.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Jamie (Missy) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Michelle (Chris) Figi of New Hartford; seven grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Jerilyn) Flege of Waverly; a sister, Sandy (John) Homeister of Waverly; and a sister-in-law, Connie (Richard) Van Dyke of Waterloo.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
