WATERLOO - David Lee Perry, 65, of Hartshorn, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died May 4 after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer.

He was born March 21, 1946, in Des Moines, and was adopted by Jim and Veva Perry of Prairie City on March 23, 1946.

After high school Mr. Perry served in the U.S. Navy, and also spent a few years as an over-the-road truck driver. He worked in furniture sales and ran his own small engine repair service before becoming a car salesman at John Deery Motors, Cedar Falls. He worked there for 27 years, retiring in 2005.

Survived by: his wife, Floralyn; five sons, Michael David of Ankeny, Keith Lawrence of Grundy Center, David James and James Edward, both of Waverly, and Christian Lee of Waterloo; two daughters, Suzanne Elizabeth Perry-Odom of Huxley and Stephanie Kay Perry of Decorah; three stepdaughters, Heather Ann Flory of Dike, and Kimberly Noel Flory and Cathryn Mae Flory, both of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Robert Lyn of Texas; and a sister, Sharon Ruble of Colorado; and his three former wives, Estelle "Star" Perry, Dorothy Darlene Perry Leach and Susan Kay Perry.

Memorial services: 3 p.m. May 19 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, where visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. May 18. A luncheon will follow.

Friends, family and previous customers are all invited and asked to please join Dave's family in a celebration of his life.
