CEDAR FALLS - Alvin R. Lundberg, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 6, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

He was born April 23, 1927, in Pilot Mound, son of Carl and Anna J. Johnson Lundberg. He married Alene Zimmerman on March 7, 1953, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Lundberg attended Dayton High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a contractor and later a farmer for many years in rural Cedar Falls, retiring in 1990.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Kirk (Pennie) of Hudson, James (Dené) of Floyd and Steven (Denise) of Readlyn; two daughters, Rebecca (Greg) Nook of Parkville, Mo., and Jane (Paul) Clowser of Waukee; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Naomi (Roger) Grindeland of Ames.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Carl and Ben.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hudson United Methodist Church, with private burial in Hudson Cemetery at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
