DYSART - Denean Jo Bauer, 28, of Reinbeck, formerly of Dysart, died Sunday, Oct. 4, at her parents' home in rural Dysart of cancer.

She was born May 18, 1981, in Waterloo, daughter of Daryl and Beverly Ramsey Abbott. She married Matthew L. Bauer on Dec. 9, 2006, in La Porte City.

Mrs. Bauer graduated from Union Community Schools in 1999 and continued her education at Hawkeye Community College and the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her degree in elementary education with an endorsement in special education. She was employed with AEA 267 and taught at Central Middle School, Waterloo, and was currently teaching special education in the Gladbrook-Reinbeck schools.

Survived by: her husband; her parents of Dysart; a brother, Daren of Dysart; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Margaret Ramsey of Waterloo.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Heartland Community Church, La Porte City, with burial in Hill-Mooreville Cemetery, rural Dysart. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Overton Funeral Home, Dysart.

Memorial fund: has been established.
