WATERLOO - Ila Frances Smith, 94, of Boone, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 28, in Boone.

She was born Aug. 23, 1915, in Laurens, daughter of Albert A. and Mary E. Craig Bunch. She married Leo Smith on May 17, 1941, in Sioux Rapids. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Lester High School and then from a business college in Des Moines. She was a teacher's aide with the Waterloo Public Schools.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, and Pine River United Methodist Church, Pine River, Minn.

Survived by: a son, Ronald C. (Jackie) of Ames; a daughter, Karen (Tom) Brindley of Alpena, Mich.; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Preceded in death by: a son, Royce; three sisters, Elvira, Dorothy and Vernal; and a brother, Clifford.

Graveside services: will be at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, Ames, is assisting the family.
