WATERLOO - John Martin Crinigan Sr., 68, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 28, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of cancer.

He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Waterloo, son of Bernard and Linea Anderson Crinigan. He married Sandy Sauer on Sept. 3, 1967, and they later divorced.

Mr. Crinigan graduated from Columbus High School in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and later was an over-the-road truck driver for WIX Trucking, retiring in 2008.

Survived by: two sons, John Martin Jr. and Daniel (Rachael), both of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Levi, Blake and Brenna Crinigan; a brother, Richard (Lila) Crinigan of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Nancy (Robert) Royer of Mount Vernon; a sister-in-law, Annette Crinigan of Evansdale; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, William.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full graveside military rites by American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
