CEDAR FALLS - Phyllis I. Malam, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Minneapolis, daughter of William and Ellen Larson Silverson. She married Orville R. Malam. He died June 9, 1948.

Mrs. Malam was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1982.

Survived by: two sons, Alan R. Rivers of Eugene, Ore., and David L. (Linda) of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William Silverson of Seminole, Fla.; and a sister, Ruth Moorman of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a grandson.

Graveside services: were held Thursday in Washington Chapel Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Home assisted the family.
