Jerold Paul “Jerry” Schmitt, 68, of Waterloo, died Saturday May 16, 2009 at Manor Care.
He was born May 26, 1940, in Waterloo, the son of Orville and Harriet Hanson Schmitt. He married Doris Coen on June 29, 1957, in Waterloo and they were later divorced. He married Pam Zurich on December 21, 1985, in Waterloo they were later divorced.
He was employed as a Plumber for Young Plumbing and Heating and also Miller Mechanical Contractors INC.
Survivors include: three sons; Jeff of Waterloo, Mark of Bondurant, and Warren of Evansdale; two daughters; Debbie Schmitt of Waterloo and Paula Wilkins of Bondurant; his mother, Harriet Schmitt of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Shanda Armstrong, Jordan Schmitt, Josh Hanesford, Jesse Moravec, and Grace Wilkins; three sisters, Bonnie (Marvin) Wissink, Lois (Don) Reicherts all of Waterloo, Jeannette McMahon of Dewar; a brother, Clarence (Wilma) of Manchester.
Preceded in death by: his father; a grandson, Lucas Wilkins; a brother in law, Robert McMahon.
Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 11 a.m until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
