Tommy L. Peterson (1926-2009)

Waterloo, Iowa - Tommy L. Peterson, 83, of 707 Webster St., died Tuesday, December 15, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born November 1, 1926, in LeFlore County, Mississippi, the son of Andrew Lee Peterson and Carla Walton. He married Irene Reed, and she preceded him in death in 1995.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Peterson and Mattie Sherrod both of Waterloo; two sons, Andrew Peterson and Charles Earl Smith, both of Waterloo; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a brother.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church. His body was cremated, Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 409 Independence Ave., where they will receive friends.
