Daniel B. Saylor of Orange Twp. Dies in Florida
Son of pioneers Is Stricken Suddenly at Sebring; Five Children Survive.
Daniel B. Saylor, 66, lifelong Orange township resident, died unexpectedly at 11:30 p. m. Wednesday at Sebring, Fla., where he was spending the winter, relatives here were informed. He had been seized with a sudden illness earlier Wednesday night.
Mr. Saylor, who spent his life on the Saylor homestead in Orange township a mile and half south of Waterloo on the Hammond avenue road, had gone to Florida last Nov. 15 with some relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller of Morrill, Kan., and had planned to return home next month.

Wife Died Last October.
His wife, the former Miss Hattie Miller of Orange township, whom he married Nov. 30, 1893, died last Oct. 15 at the family residence.
Mr. Saylor was born May 18, 1870, on the farm of his parents, Joseph and Mary Saylor, early Orange township settlers.
He operated the farm for many years, and, in recent years continued residence there while his son, Emory M. Saylor, has been operating it.
Mr. Saylor was a member of First Brethren church.

Three Sons, Two Daughters.
Surviving besides the son of the Saylor homestead are two other sons, Merwyn M. Saylor, Ruby, Ariz., and Harold M. Saylor, 1203 Commercial street, and two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Denning, Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Frances Hamer, 105 Bertch avenue; a sister, Mrs. Eliza P. Schrock, 218 Hammond avenue, and two grandchildren.
The body is to be brought to the O’Keefe & Towne funeral home in Waterloo. Funeral arrangements will not be completed until word is received from the son and daughter in the west.
