Funeral services are being planned for Tuesday afternoon for Verl F. Klingaman, 57, of Rt. 1 Hudson Rd., who died of a coronary occlusion at 9 a. m. Thursday at his home.
Arrangements for the last rites will be announced later friends may call at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Saturday. Those who wish may contribute memorials to the organ fund of Westminster Presbyterian church.
Mr. Klingaman was born at Hudson Feb. 20, 1909, the son of William and Mary Miller Klingaman. He graduated in 1928 from Orange Township Consolidated High School and attended Iowa State University, at Ames.
He married Iva Nieuwenhui, at Sheldon, Ia., June 19, 1936. They had operated a women’s apparel shop, The Barn, since 1964, on land they owned on Hwy. 63 South between Waterloo and Hudson.
He was a member and past trustee and elder of Westminster Presbyterian church. He was past president of Orange Township School board and a past member of Black Hawk County Zoning Commission.
In addition, Mr. Klingaman was a member of Black Hawk County Farm Bureau, Elks Lodge 290, and the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving besides his widow are three daughters, Mrs. John Dull, residing in the Marshall Islands, Miss Elaine who is a student at the University of Dubuque, and Jean, at home.
There are also two sisters, Mrs. Dale Bush, Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Ed Sheronick, Hudson; five brothers, Carl Klingaman of Emmetsburg, Guy of San Antonio, Tex., Harold of Syracuse, N. Y., Charles of Mitchell, S. D., and Robert of 3325 West Ridge Dr., and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
