Noah W. Miller, retired Black Hawk county farmer, died at 4 a. m. Monday following a heart attack suffered at the residence of Mrs. Carrie Pett, 305 ½ Hammond avenue, where he made his home. He was 89 years old.
Noah Miller was born July 5, 1846, in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, the son of Daniel and Elizabeth Miller. He came to Waterloo with his parents at the age of 18. The famiy located in Orange township on a farm, just south of the city limits, which is now owned by the Charles Marsh estate. It was at one time known as the Maxwell farm.
Miller married Belinda Belle Saylor in Waterloo in 1870. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Waterloo.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. H. H. Horner, Rocklake, N. D.; Mrs. L. B. Rimel, Huntington Beach, Cal., and Mrs. W. W. Klingaman, Route 4; four sons, H. J. Miller, Broadview, Sask., Can.; Mark, Tacoma, Wash.; Daniel, Long Beach, Cal., and Lee, Fredericksburg, Ia.; 18 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller died Sept. 13, 1918, and a son, Emry, died in infancy.
The body was taken to the Petersen Bros. funeral home.
