Jeremiah Saylor was born Jan. 29, 1819, in Somerset county, Penn. Came to Iowa in 1859, settling on a farm in Orange township, where he resided until 1889, when he moved to Oregon. He lived there until his death, which occurred August 15, in Oregon. The deceased lived a consistent Christian life, being a member for a long time of the Progressive church. Being a gentleman of unassuming manners, he was universally respected wherever he went, and made friends.

News has been received of the death in Washington, of Jeremiah Saylor, one of the earliest settlers of Orange township. He moved from here to what was then Washington Territory about seven years ago, residing there until his death about a week ago. He was the father of Mrs. A. T.
