Pioneer Orange Township Woman Dies Following Illness From Heart Trouble.

Elizabeth Lichty Peck, age 66 years, died at 11:55 p.m. yesterday at the family home, 272 Hammond avenue, death following a prolonged illness of heart trouble.

Elizabeth Lichty was born in 1855 in Pennsylvania, a daughter of John A. and Magdalena Lichty. She came to Iowa with her parents in the year of 1860, settling in Orange township, where they lived until 1876, at which time she was married to J. J. Peck. Following the marriage the couple moved onto a farm in Eagle township residing there until the spring of 1905, at which time they came to Waterloo, making their home here since.

Mrs. Lichty was a member of the First Brethren church. She was known as an ardent church worker, continuing in this work until her final illness.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Calvin L., and Frank J., both of Eagle township; Mrs. Glenn Lichty, Orange township, Roy D. preceded his mother in death three years ago. Five grandchildren survive, as well as the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. A. E. Brown, Jacob and A. J. Lichty, all of Waterloo; C. J. Lichty, Beatrice, Neb.; Filmore Lichty, Omaha, Neb. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

The remains were removed to Patersen Brothers undertaking parlors, where they will rest until time for the funeral. A short prayer service will be held at the home, 272 Hammond avenue, Sunday at 2 p. m., Rev. W. H. Beacher officiating. Funeral services at the First Brethren church will be at 2:30 p. m. and burial will be in Orange cemetery.

Friends may view the remains at Petersen Brothers’ undertaking parlors Saturday afternoon.
