Sudie E. Hershberger, 79, of 411 Kingsley Ave. will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Church of the Brethren. She died about 10:20 a. m. Sunday at Schoitz Memorial hospital of complications incident to advanced age.

The Rev. Charles W. Lunkley, pastor, will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Clarence Sink, pastor of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Orange township cemetery.

The casket will be taken to the church from the Parrott and Wood funeral home at noon Tuesday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Church of the Brethren building fund.

She was born Oct. 12, 1878, in Plattsburg, Mo., the daughter of Samuel and Nancy Miller Hoover, and was married to Jonas Hershberger in 1924 at Plattsburg.

The couple moved to Waterloo shortly after their marriage.

Mrs. Hershberger was member of the Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ella Shoemaker, South Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. David Sandy, Kidder, Mo; three stepsons, Owen Hershberger, 1210 Hammond Ave.; Floyd

Hershberger, 304 Clough St., and Paul Hershberger, Jesup; three stepdaughters, Mrs. J.

P. Gibbel, Greenville, Ohio; Mrs. Ralph Fahrney, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. J. B. Mishew,

Brookville, Ohio; 10 step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and a sister.[1]
