DEATHS
Charles E. Brooks
Charles E. Brooks, 78, a resident of Waterloo for 25 years, died of complications incident to old age at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carroll Secor, 1007 West Third street. He had been ill for more than a year.
Formerly a machinist at Carl Moline's Stone Cutting works. Mr. Brooks retired about seven years ago.
He was born June 20, 1867, in Chicago, Ill. On July 23, 1902 he married Evelyn Kneale at Mt. Carroll, Ill. Mrs. Brooks died five years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Secor, with whom he made his home; Mrs. J. E. Roethler, 724 Independence avenue; and Mrs. Sibyl Huxsol, New Plaza hotel; a son, William Brooks, 1200 West Parker; and eight grandchildren. Five sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
The body is at O'Keefe & Towne funeral home.
