Lydia Ann Newman,daughter of David A. and Mahala Newman was born July 17,1862.She was united in marriage with John B. Cross July 17,1886. To this union were born five children, of which three survive, William G.,Everret A., and Carl E. She also leaves one brother, William E., one sister, Malinda E., and six grandchildren. She united with the Christian Church of LaFayette in 1879 under the preaching of N.A.McConnell. She remained faithful until she was called away in death on Feb.16,1927 at the age of 64 years,7 months. To say she leaves a host of friends is putting it in mild form, for to know her was to love her.
