A Death at Norway.
Norway, Iowa, June 29--Thomas T. Strand died this morning at his residence near Norway after more than a year's suffering from Bright's disease. The deceased was born in Strandsogn, Havanger, Norway, sixty years ago. At the early age of sixteen he came to this country, locating in LaSalle county, Ill. Thirty-five years ago he came to Benton county where he resided up to the time of his death. He was an enterprising man with a strong moral character, holding many officers of trust and confidence and always to the credit of himself and many friends. He was a member of the Society of Friends, under whose auspices the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the meeting house. The deceased leaves a wife to whom he was married in 1862, and three sons, Thomas T. Strand, Jr., Andrew and Benjamin, three daughters and a son having previously died.
