FRED THAYER DEAD
Died Tuesday Morning at His Home in Vinton
Fred Thayer well known in Waterloo, died Tuesday morning at his home in Vinton. The Eagle of this morning gives the following particulars:
"Fred Thayer died Tuesday morning at his mother's home on Whipple Street. The funeral was held Thursday morning from the house, the services being conducted by Rev. S. S. Hilscher of the Presbyterian Church.
The deceased was born on a farm near Vinton in 1868, and this was his home until early manhood.
About 14 years ago he was married to Alta Mahan. One child, Georgia, who has made her home with her grandmother since infancy, survives him.
His last illness was a lingering one covering a period of two years.
The burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery."
