Have compiled the descendants of Johann Christian Wahlert, born Germany, died Audubon Co., Iowa. Have over 100 pages of his descendants. Would like to know where Suhult, Holstein, Germany was or is located. I know that the Provinces of Schleswig & Holstein were fought over by the Germans & the Danes. The modern Schleswig-Holstein Province area is a mixture of Danes & Germans. Usually i can locate German towns as i can read & translate German, but am unable to locate Suhult. Also Johann's son, Jurgen was married in Sinhosen, Germany-unable to locate this town either. Sometimes obits of German immigrants miss-spelled the towns there were from a little bit. I have been doing the family trees of Audubon County, Iowa & have over 81,200 people in my computer genealogy program database. These are all south-west Iowa Counties people. Genealogy is my hobby.
