I have an old photograph on a post card that my mother gave me. This photo belonged to my grandmother, Mary Inez McClain-Landon (1894-1980);
on the back of the photo is written 2 names; "MILDRED LEFINWELL" & "MYRTLE HARDISTY".
It appears to be a mother-daughter photo. The LEFFINGWELL family settled in Audubon Co., Iowa & the HARDISTY family settled in Adams Co., Iowa near Carbon. My grandmother lived in Audubon Co, Iowa; Cass County, Iowa & Adams Co., Iowa. In the photo, the clothing worn appears to be from the late 1800's to early 1900's during the gaslight era. The girl appears to be age 13-18; the mother appears to be age early to mid 20's.
