Rites Wednesday For Anna Vokt
Services at Immanuel Lutheran Church
Mrs. Anna Vokt, 88, lifetime resident of the Adair vicinity, died early Monday morning in the Crestwood Nursing Home at Anita, where she had been a patient since November.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. E. C. Zimmermann. "Be Still My Soul: and "How Great Thou Art" were sung by the Immanuel Singers. Mrs. Marvin Wedemeyer was the organist. Mrs. Orville Petty and Mrs. Kenneth Westergaard were in charge of the flowers.
Casket bearers were Robert Vokt, Richard Holtz, Paul Farnsworth, LeRoy Rochholz, Kenneth Twidt and Gary Wedemeyer. Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Anna Katharina Vokt, daughter of Henry and Katharine Wedemeyer Gebers, was born April 4, 1878, in Audubon township northwest of Adair. She and Andrew Vokt were married Jan. 3, 1900, and to this union were born three sons and four daughters.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Esther, in childhood; by a granddaughter, Mrs. Paul Farnsworth, an auto accident victim on July 4, 1963; and by her husband on July 20, 1918.
Survivors include here three sons, Oscar and Fred H. Vokt of Anita; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Wedemeyer, Mrs. Edward Sachau and Mrs. Aage Westergaard of Adair, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John Mueller and Mrs. Lena Mueller of Adair; and a brother, Henry Gebers of Adair.
